It’s Wine Time - Coteaux du Giennois - “Lecture du paysage”

This summer, on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, the Sancerre, Pouilly and Giennois appellations take it in turns to present their wines at wine tasting events. On Thursdays, the tastings take place during a reading of the landscape in an unusual location, on Fridays - in a place steeped in history, and on Saturdays - in the vineyards at the homes of different winegrowers. Reading the landscape: at the Pont du P-O A technical feat dating from the end of the 19th century, this railway bridge is impressive for its metal structure and size. Designed to link the two banks of the Loire, it is also a unique vantage point: suspended above the river, it offers a privileged view of the Loire landscape and the surrounding vineyards. The walk is punctuated by a tasting of 3 Coteaux du Giennois, a Pouilly and a Sancerre. Meet at 6.30pm, Thursdays 9 July, 30 July and 20 August. Bookings only at the Sancerre-Pouilly-Giennois Tourist Offices, the Maison des Sancerre & La Tour du Pouilly Fumé.
